Whether your wedding is taking place in your hometown or on a tropical island, holding it in a hotel can have a lot of advantages. Not only can you say your "I dos" in the hotel, but you can host your reception there as well.

When it comes to having a hotel wedding, you generally will have a few different options to choose from. You can either hold the ceremony and reception indoors, or outdoors in a garden or beach, depending on the location and weather. While it's not as traditional as a church wedding ceremony, a hotel ceremony can make a lot of sense, financially and logistics-wise.

Here are some advantages for holding your wedding ceremony and reception at a hotel:

1. Convenience

If you decide to have a hotel wedding and reception, everything will be conveniently under one roof. You won't have to worry about how to get from one venue to another or ask guests to drive a long distance in between events.

This will come in especially handy if you have out-of-town guests who are unfamiliar with the area or if you're hosting the ceremony in a far-away location, such as another country. Less time on the road means more time for celebratory fun. It can also save you money since you won't have to hire a transportation service, such as a limousine company, to take you back and forth.

2. Lodging

One of the best things about having a hotel wedding is that you and your guests can also stay there. If you've invited a lot of far-flung friends and relatives, the hotel may offer you a block of rooms for a discounted price.

Even if you're holding your wedding in your own city, you can rent a hotel room to get ready in on your big day. Your hairdresser and make-up artist can come to your room to prepare you and even be on hand throughout the festivities to touch up your look. When you want to change in between the ceremony and reception, you can do it in the convenience of your own room.

3. Event Services

Not only do hotels provide the venue, but they can also help out with event services, such as catering, as well. You won't have to worry about finding an outside caterer since the hotel staff can take care of all of the details. In some hotels, the on-site caterer will work with you to design your ideal menu.

In addition to the food, many hotels also provide all of the event logistics, such as tables, chairs, and even a gazebo if you're holding your ceremony outdoors. They probably have event rental company recommendations as well, so you can easily obtain table linens, flowers, centerpieces, and any other personalized items that you need.
